Video: Making a Lazy Susan

Lazy Susan made out of walnut with text saying "lazy susan" in yellow

A couple years ago I was brand new to woodworking. I wanted to learn more techniques and try my hand at making a few different things. That Christmas I decided my parents needed a new Lazy Susan in their kitchen.

The old one was warped, cracking, and did not spin very well. It felt like a good fit; my parents get a handmade Christmas gift and I get to practice my new hobby.

Here’s a video I made of the process. I didn’t quite finish before I had to leave my shop so near the end the settings change quite a bit. Still managed to get it done in time and it’s still working great to this day.

Check out the video. Afterwards, if you enjoy it, check out some of the other videos on my YouTube channel.
